The IT Company EXPO 10k and 5k
Calling all runners and families!
May 26, 2018, will mark the 41st running of Knoxville Track Club’s EXPO 10k and 5k race. The tradition of this race makes it so much more than just a race; it’s Knoxville’s oldest and most beloved community running event.
The IT Company is proud to be the title sponsor for the race and we get great enjoyment in watching people in the community come together to participate in such a wonderful event. Knoxville Track Club Operations Manager, Joni Alexander, described the EXPO race as being, “Really a race that celebrates family. With the awards for the categories of mother/son, mother/daughter, father/son, father/daughter, and wife/husband, it brings a lot of fun teams out to enjoy the holiday together.”
As a non-profit 501-C3 organization, KTC uses the money collected for operational costs to keep the race running. The remainder of the money is used to benefit KTC’S Young Athletics Program or a donation to a worthy cause.
The race will start of with a 1 mile run for kids and will be followed by the 10k and 5k races. This year’s course will run Central to right on Magnolia- left on Jackson- right on Central and continue onto NeylandDrive. The 5k turnaround will be around Calhoun’s and back to Central. The 10k course will continue down Neyland, to almost the Third Creek Greenway bridge, with a return down Neyland to Central. Both courses end at Crafty Brewing, where the experience and celebration continues. All runners, of age, receive $1 off beer. There will be food trucks for food purchase after the race, as well a as performance by Barry Jolly. Be sure to check out our office, located at 16 Emory Place, while you're running by!
