Necurs Botnet Targets Banks

We may sound like a broken record by saying this, but we at the IT Company are looking out for you – and your security.

You have likely seen our recent blog posts on a variety of security topics. Today, we alert you of even more targeted attacks on your security – attacks that are recent and real.

The Necurs Botnet is the largest spam botnet in the world. The past year, Necurs hasn’t been nearly as vicious or active as it had been prior- until now. This summer, Necurs revealed itself in a new form, with an even more specific target.

Within the last month, the Necurs Botnet has targeted the security of our banking system. Even if you are not in the banking industry, these attacks may effect you professionally and personally. There are a number of entry points taken by this attack, including many very common Microsoft file formats and other common file types, like .pdf.

What’s more daunting about this attack is that it is methodically organized into “waves” of attacks, each of which is very pointed. Making the latest attacks from the Necurs Botnet scarier than ever.

What can you do about it? We at the IT Company don’t just aim to inform you, we also aim to arm you with solutions.   The link below provides a comprehensive description of the Necurs Botnet, as well as steps you can take to prevent this attack from affecting you. We encourage you to review this information and plan for how to continue to keep your systems and information safe. Click here to read more.
